Introducing Myself & Shure Mfg

For twenty six plus years, I have been involved in the crystal industry. My name is Radleigh Speer and I’m the President and owner of Shure Manufacturing. I’m proud to bring a highly diverse manufacturing background to the crystal industry.

My career began with completing a tool and die apprenticeship, attending college at Northern Illinois University and serving five years in the U. S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer. From 1981 to 1984 I served as plant manager for Thermo Dynamics, a quartz manufacturing and cutting operation. With the increase in technology and the difficulties in meeting expanding requirements, I observed a growing demand for higher tolerance quartz production. So, in 1984, I left Thermo Dynamics to begin my own company, Shure Mfg. Shure manufactures slurry saws, x-ray transfer systems and blank x-ray machines.

Shure Mfg has helped both existing and start-up companies in the blank cutting business with their front-end manufacturing. We have improved tolerances from three to four minutes to one minute or less off the saw. Better tolerances greatly reduce the amount of waste, excess inventory and helps meet the requirements for high tolerance blanks.

My latest innovation is The Wave Machine. I think you will be excited about how this new machine can improve your slurry saw blade performance and increase the blade life. Take a look at this web site and feel free to contact me with any questions or for more detailed information.
